Construction continues at 12 Franklin. As Rob, the UPS driver, asks, “When will it be done?”  smiley

The Church Council calls a special congregational meeting on Sunday, September 16th.  The meeting will be held following the 10am worship service and Sunday Kids’ Klub.  The meeting’s sole purpose is to vote upon the recommendation by the Finance /Investment Committee as ratified by the Church Council.  The recommendation is to sell the church’s property at 20 Franklin Avenue, known at the Clarke House.  All voting members are encouraged to attend. Guests are welcome to participate except in the voting.  The back story is, of course, the building improvement project grew in scope and cost. To complete the project, $800,000 in cash is needed. Previously, the congregation approved borrowing up to $600,000 from one more sources. To this end, the Finance/Investment Committee secured a short-term loan from the ELCA’s Mission Investment Fund. The loan’s purposes are (1) to avoid borrowing said amount from the congregation’s Mission Endowment Fund, and (2) for the purpose of shortterm liquidity. A detailed presentation of this recommendation was given at a June 24th informational meeting to those in attendance.  Since June, the committee secured an appraisal for the 20 Franklin Avenue property. This report will be shared in a separate mailing.

All are encouraged to participate
in the work of your congregation.
